Philantree is a social networking app that connects nonprofits seeking eager volunteers with students and young adults aspiring to make a difference while gaining hands-on experience.
Through Philantree, users can browse a curated explore page of volunteer opportunities, other users photos and reviews of volunteer experiences, and personalized feed of volunteer opportunities that can be filtered by location, dates, and type of work.
With incentives for engagement, photo sharing, and messaging, Philantree transforms volunteering into an experience that’s both socially and personally rewarding.

Our
Story
Get to Know Us
Philantree was born out of a passion for purpose and a desire to make volunteering more accessible, rewarding, and community-driven. Founded by Elijah Mattfeld, an active volunteer and current business student, the idea took root through firsthand experience with the challenges young people face when trying to connect with meaningful opportunities.

After placing 1st place in a Business Pitch Competition, Elijah decided to pursue the venture and is now working with a team of business students to turn this idea into a reality.

Blending a heart for service with an eye for innovation, Philantree aims to bridge the gap between nonprofits and the next generation of changemakers — making it easier than ever to give back, grow, and get involved.
